Navigating a New Normal: Meeting the Needs of Today with Heart and Soul

Thank you for joining friends and colleagues for the 2022 Alliance Annual Conference, an event at which teachers, administrators, and board members from Public Waldorf schools, independent Waldorf schools, and new initiatives from across the nation gather together for renewal and unity. We will find colleagueship, connection, inspiration, new tools, and insights to take back into our work. Through a combination of seed presentations, themed workshops, and networking opportunities, we will explore aspects of our changing landscape, and how we are “navigating a new normal” in Public Waldorf Education.

Restorative Justice to Restore The Relationship

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

My workshop offers educators hands-on experience working with Restorative Justice/Discipline in a Waldorf setting either in the classroom or by the school staff. Many students are hurting and there can be a feeling that students are "out of control" and we need to have all the answers as educators. However, this is not the case. The participants would be led through lectures and experiences of why the Restorative Process rebuilds the damage from schools that tend to only offer punitive discipline. In addition, the participants would leave with tools that will allow them to navigate all the many aspects of holding a restorative circle, recess restoration, as well as empowering 8th-12th grade students to take on the roles of Justice Teams. By offering this workshop, I hope to empower the educators to gain control in often uncontrollable situations and bring relief to their worries and concerns.
