Navigating a New Normal: Meeting the Needs of Today with Heart and Soul

Thank you for joining friends and colleagues for the 2022 Alliance Annual Conference, an event at which teachers, administrators, and board members from Public Waldorf schools, independent Waldorf schools, and new initiatives from across the nation gather together for renewal and unity. We will find colleagueship, connection, inspiration, new tools, and insights to take back into our work. Through a combination of seed presentations, themed workshops, and networking opportunities, we will explore aspects of our changing landscape, and how we are “navigating a new normal” in Public Waldorf Education.

Sunday, January 16 • 11:30am - 1:00pm
Low-stress projects for children and adults

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Hands connect us to the physical reality of our environment, manifest connection with each other, and actively increase a sense of powerful agency when we create simple things such as friendship bracelets or very simple dolls or puppets. Using very simple materials such as cardboard and yarn of different colors, together we will make and discuss two or three handwork projects which can be made at any age, in class or after-care, or even in the car on the way home!

For this Sunday session, you will need some cardboard, a pair of reasonably strong scissors (for the cardboard), and some yarn of pretty much any kind.

Explore handwork projects with Elizabeth Seward, Ph.D., Handwork and class teacher, and teacher educator for more than 35 years in public, private, and homeschool settings.
